LUCK OF THE HALF IRISH

As a half Irish - half Italian gal, I embrace St. Patrick's Day wholly and go full throttle into this day. I love everything about it. From the annual corned beef and cabbage, to the warm Irish soda bread. It's the day to don your green and head to parades. When my kids were little, I absolutely had so much fun making leprechaun traps and still believe that there is a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

As I have not seen any rainbows this year and therefore cannot go on the gold pot hunt, I will show you the goings on for this holiday.

My mantle is a focal point in my living room and I love to season it up! While I keep in with the theme, I also like to use every day items like plates or overturned wine glasses as candle bases. My apocothary jar is usually filled, and I found these great shamrock ornaments from Michael's. I wanted something different for the glasses and decided to fill them up with the gold coins from the Dollar Tree .

I added some fairy lights under the wine glasses because it really casts a beautiful glow at night.

There was a lot of activity in my kitchen as well this year. I was on dessert duty and found a recipe for these amazing Irish Cream Coffee Chocolate truffles. They were so rich and creamy and the combination of chocolate, espresso, and Bailey's was absolutely delicious.

If you are a truffle lover you need to try these. Here is the link to the recipe I used:

Secondly, after being a Pinterest Procrastinator, I decided to execute this pin that I had saved for a couple of years. It took a little bit of time but the wow factor was there.....it was cool to look at, great to eat, and the kids got a huge kick out of it.

That's it for now....I hope the luck of the Irish filled your hearts and homes this St. Patricks' Day! Till next time...
